News from the Local

The Local January sale.

Time Out have once again recommended us, saying THIS and we've even heard there will be a photo preview of the show.

Probably something to do with the show's HIGH QUALITY bill, lovingly selected for you as ever, here at The Local HQ.

Well, you've probably seen and heard Birdengine before right? At the Local, at End of the Road, The Electric Elephant. We just think his weird-ass songs about having hooves and cutting up dogs are going to break through just about everything this year. You know he had lunch with her highness PJ Harvey last year don't you? If she's a fan, well, so ought you to be.

Firelight Shadows is a new one on us, and we're glad they got in touch. They complete a theme of music for films on tonight's show, as they have this piece of music on a film - details HERE

Emily Barker heads the bill up and she's ace. I had the pleasure of introducing her at the Big Session last summer and have been trying to book her since. They can't be as drunk on Friday as they were in June, as they have stepped up a bit and did some music for the Wallander programme with your man Kenneth Brannagh in it.

Friday's going to rock. Come on down. It's well brown.
